Why Free Summer Movies are the Best
You know summer is truly around the corner when they release the free summer movie schedule! If you, like me, keep the kids home at least some of the summer – multiple camps+2 kids+$$=:( – then you probably know the joy of getting out of the house just to sit in a movie theatre with a bunch of other rowdy kids for a couple hours. BONUS POINTS if there are multiple summer campers in attendance. Hint, there will be.
All in all, it’s a nice, cheap option to put in your summer activity rotation.
We got the chance to do this a couple of times last summer and for the most part it was a rather pleasant experience for me and the kids *really* enjoyed it. The theatre at Downtown at the Gardens does do a nice job of having multiple screens showing these morning movies which is great because both times we went we were able to visit a theatre with other individual families instead of sitting in the camp-filled theaters. Much appreciated @Cobb!
There are also usually some type of kid-friendly food/drink combos for sale and we often got BOGO gift cards from Gardens restaurants that were hanging around outside before the movies trying to help drum up family-related business. All in all, it’s a nice, cheap option to put in your summer activity rotation.
